STAY FIZZY

Like most people, I like my fizzy drinks to be, well, fizzy and dread the idea of flat cola. The way to prolong your bubbly soda bliss, presuming you have opted for the plastic bottle version of your favorite drink, is to quite simply squeeze the air out of your bottle (once you’ve had a few delightful gulps), so that the liquid is near the top before replacing the lid. This gives the “fizz” gases nowhere to go and thus keeps your drink invigorated. Works for small or large bottles— not so much for glass ones.

Everyone knows that homemade pancakes can leave the kitchen looking as though Jackson Pollock has been creating his latest masterpiece in there. This hack will cut down on the mess and also leave you looking extremely cool in front of your friends and family.

Prepare your pancake batter and transfer it into an empty, cleaned-out squeezy bottle. When you want a fresh pancake, give the bottle a good shake and squeeze the mixture into the pan with no mess! A word of warning, though: Don’t confuse the pancake bottle with the mayo bottle—the result will not be tasty.

SIX-PACK DINING

When dining al fresco (or, in my case, sitting on tiny chairs in a cramped garage), make it feel like you’re eating out in a fancy restaurant garden—and save yourself trips back and forth to the kitchen—by using a makeshift cutlery caddy.

To create your caddy, simply save a cardboard six-pack holder (that’s beer, for all you teetotalers). Put napkins, cutlery, salt and pepper shakers, and sauce bottles in the compartments, and there you have it—oh-so-classy dining at home.
