If you’re on a ten-hour flight to Tobago for the family vacation and your plane doesn’t have seat-back TVs, fret not. There’s a simple solution that will keep you and your tribe happy. Put your phone in a plastic bag and attach it to the seat in front of you. Then sit back and relax. Your in-flight viewing system is ready for takeoff!

What you do in the comfort of your bathroom is your own damn business, but if you’re like one in ten people and have dropped your smartphone into the crapper, you may want to take note of this one.

Fish that sucker out of there and turn it off. Take out the SIM card, memory card, and battery, and place them on a paper towel to dry. Wipe any moisture from your phone, and then submerge it in a bag of uncooked rice. Leave your phone for seventy-two hours so the rice can soak up any moisture. If it powers up after that, great. You now just have to get over the fact that you’re holding something that has been in your toilet up to your ear, mouth, and face.

CHARGE BOOSTER

Just when you thought airplane mode couldn’t get any more exciting, here’s another hack that uses it. Turning on airplane mode while charging your phone will increase the speed at which your phone battery charges. Especially useful for when you can sense a kid tantrum coming on —simply sit back, plug in the headphones, and pretend you’re asleep.
